The Allen Family

1 beautiful girl

2 beautiful girls

Drinking that coffee to stay awake

Tired, but happy dad

One beautiful mom and daughter

yum, food!

Today we went to a gorgeous park full of different flowers.   The girls were great on the trip this morning.  Then the guides took us to the tallest building in China.   The skyscraper is 98 stories tall.  We also saw the arena for the 2010 Asian games.   We are currently  in the room resting and then will work on packing some of our stuff.  I hope everything fits back into our luggage.  I''ve  already purchased an extra carry on when we were in Beijing.  :0)  Miss everyone.

Sunday, April 3

Mom, Reagan said my hair was messy...

Lunchtime...

All the new, happy parents

Pictures, anyone?

Baby one, and baby two

Living the life of a baby is hard work...

Yesterday afternoon we rode with the other families to the medical clinic and we did a small amount of shopping.  Then I went to paper meeting for two hours and Glen kept the girls.  Reagan and Rachel cried the entire two hours.   I think they stressed Daddy out!    This morning we went to Folk Art Museum.   The wood carvings on the building were amazing.   We bought the girls some art work, stamps with their chinese names/american names, and china dolls for the girls to play with one day.   Lots of Chinese people took pictures of us feeding the girls.  I think there was excitement that we had adopted  and that they were twins.   They rest of the day is free time for us. Right now the girls are napping and then we will probably go to the park across the street.  We have to be up and ready by 7:20am tomorrow for a consulate meeting.

Just me and mom!

This is my sissy...

Hello...

Just US and our dad!

Today we stayed close to the hotel.  After breakfast I got really sick and was sick most of the day/evening.   Glen was such a trooper taking care of the girls.   I feel much better today.   Not sure what caused the sickness, but possibly the orange juice I had at breakfast.  All 13 families from our agency are now here and we spent the morning with them, while they were at the clinic.  Reagan keeps getting a rash around her face and neck.  I hope one of the physicans there will be able to take a look at the rash while we are there.

A visit to the zoo (Thursday, March 31)

Let's go find some Panda Bears!

There's that Panda!

Whoa! Mom and Dad you wore us out!

Yesterday we went to a zoo here in Guangzhou.   We were there for about three hours.  Luckily our hotel had strollers we could rent, so we got two for the day.   Both girls still have a cold and some allergy-like symptoms, but each night their sleeping seems to get better.

So far, we haven't went to the breakfast buffet here at the hotel and instead have been eating in our room.  Today will be our first attempt at taking the girls out with us to eat breakfast.  We do not have any big plans today. There is another park close by that we might visit today.

Getting checked out at the doctor!

Thursday, March 31 Post (China time!)

Last night (Wed, Mar. 30) the girls slept better.    They are such happy girls and very loving.   We were gone yesterday with the group from 1-5 and they were great!    The medical exam was very simple and they were not fussy at all.  Rachel is now the same length as Reagan, but still 3 pounds lighter.  We were at the police station for a very long time waiting to get their pictures taken for their passports.   While the people were trying to take Rachel's picture, she kept sticking out her tongue.  It was quite humorous and the photographers were laughing about it.  Reagan has such a sweet grin and loves to try to stand up while you hold her hands.  We are going to the zoo this morning and then have the rest of the afternoon free.

Night 2 as parents!

Jenny asked me to please edit for the "tired mamma!"  ;-)

Last night was a little better with the girls sleeping.  Rachel slept much better than Reagan.   Yesterday they became officailly ours through the paperwork.  Today we will go for medical exams and pictures for passports/visas.   We are going to Pizza Hut this afternoon with our travel group.   There is a national park across the street that is truly beautiful.   Our guides are taking wonderful care of us and it continues to be an fabulous experience.    Near our hotel there is a Starbucks, McDonalds, and 7-11.   7-11 is one of the only places to find a Coke Zero.    (thank goodnes, since I am not a coffee drinker)  We can not get on Facebook, but are able to read others comments through Yahoo.   It truly keeps us connected to home.   We can't wait for you to meet the girls.
